By accessing or using castructuralengineer.com ("the Site," "we," or "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
castructuralengineer.com is a paid listing directory of California-licensed structural engineers, built from publicly available BPELSG license data. The Site connects property owners, architects, and contractors ("seekers") with licensed structural engineers ("engineers").
The Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists (BPELSG) or any California state agency. Listing on this Site does not constitute a referral, recommendation, or endorsement of any engineer. We do not guarantee that any engineer will respond to inquiries or take on any particular project.
Engineers may subscribe to a paid listing tier. Current plans and pricing are displayed on the pricing page. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe, our payment processor (stripe.com). By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.
You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Subscription fees are charged at the start of each billing period. We may update pricing with 30 days' notice.
Engineers may claim their listing at no charge. Claiming requires an active California PE structural engineering license. By claiming, you represent that you hold the license associated with the listing and that all information you provide is accurate.
We reserve the right to remove a claim if we cannot verify the associated license, if the license becomes inactive, or if we have reason to believe the claim is fraudulent. Disputed claims are reviewed within 48 hours of notice.
When a seeker submits a contact form, their name, email address, phone number (if provided), project type, zip code, timeline, and message are shared with the engineer on that listing. This data is not sold or shared with any other party. Engineers are responsible for their own conduct in responding to inquiries and must comply with all applicable laws.
Paid-tier engineers may request reviews from past clients. Reviews are moderated by the operator before publication. We reserve the right to reject or remove reviews that are spam, fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise violate these terms. Engineers whose reviews are removed will be notified and have 7 days to appeal by emailing hello@castructuralengineer.com.
We offer a 30-day full refund, no questions asked, from the date of your first subscription payment. To request a refund, email hello@castructuralengineer.com within 30 days of the charge.
No partial refunds are issued after the 30-day window. If you cancel your subscription, you retain access to your paid listing features until the end of the current billing period. Your listing then reverts to a free listing.
We may suspend or remove a listing or account if:
Engineers subject to suspension will be notified by email with the reason for suspension and an opportunity to respond.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Before initiating any legal action, you agree to provide 30 days' written notice to hello@castructuralengineer.com describing the dispute and the relief sought. Disputes not resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration or small claims court in California.
The Site is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties. We are not liable for any disputes between seekers and engineers, for the quality of engineering services, for data inaccuracies in BPELSG source data, or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
The Site design, code, and editorial content are owned by the operator. BPELSG license data is public domain. You may not scrape, reproduce, or redistribute Site content in bulk without written permission.
We will provide 30 days' notice of material changes to these terms via email to registered accounts. Continued use of the Site after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
